Tips
Tips β an optional amount that a guest leaves on top of the order cost. Meni allows accepting tips both during online ordering via QR menu and at the POS. Important: tips are not counted as venue revenue and are displayed in reports as a separate line.
Enabling and Setup
Tips are configured separately for each location:
- Open Admin Panel β Locations and select the required location.
- In the settings section, find the "Tips" block.
- Turn on the "Tips Enabled" toggle.
- Specify the suggested percentages β for example,
5, 10, 15. These are quick presets that the guest or cashier will see. If not set, the system will use the default values. - Optionally, allow a custom amount β the guest or cashier will be able to enter any amount manually.
Save the settings. The presets will immediately appear in the checkout and on the POS.
Guest adds tips when ordering online
When a guest places an order via the QR menu and selects online payment, a tip selection block appears on the checkout screen:
- Quick buttons with percentages (for example, 5% / 10% / 15%).
- Field for a custom amount (if enabled in the settings).
- Tips are calculated from the sum of the menu items (excluding the service charge).
- The total payment amount is displayed with a breakdown: order cost + service charge + tips.
If the guest does not want to leave a tip, they simply do not select a preset and leave the field blank.
Cashier or waiter adds tips in POS
When working via the POS, tips are added during the payment stage:
- Assemble the order in the ticket as usual.
- Tap "Pay".
- On the payment screen, chips with percentage presets will appear β tap the desired one. The tip amount will be calculated from the subtotal and displayed in the ticket.
- If a different amount is needed, enter it manually in the tip field.
- Complete the payment: the total amount includes tips.
Tips are saved in the order and linked to the waiter who accepted the payment β this is visible in reports.
Tips in the Order List
In the Orders section, each order with tips displays a breakdown:
| Row | Includes |
|---|---|
| Subtotal | Sum of menu items |
| Service charge | If configured for the location |
| Tips | Amount selected by the guest or cashier |
| Total | Total amount due |
This way, staff can immediately see what portion of the total is tips.
Reporting in the "Finance" Section
The Finance section shows tips separately from revenue:
- "Tips" KPI β the total amount of tips for the selected period (7 / 30 / 90 days or 12 months), broken down by currency if you have multiple locations with different currencies.
- "Tips by Waiters" β a chart on the "Sales" tab showing how many tips each waiter collected during the period. Orders without an assigned waiter are grouped into a separate line.
Since tips are not the venue's income, they are not included in revenue and gross profit metrics.

FAQ
