Regular Guests — Recognition and Order History

The Orders section in the admin panel shows not only current orders, but also helps the staff immediately see which guests are returning. Next to the guest's name, a badge with the number of their completed orders is displayed — the waiter or manager understands at a glance if this is a regular guest and can give them special attention.

Open: Admin Panel → Orders (admin.meni.ge).

Regular Guest Badge

In the order card, in the upper right corner of the header, next to the close button, a 👤 icon with a number is displayed. The number is the count of completed orders by this guest across the entire venue (all locations).

  • If the guest is visiting for the first time, the badge shows 1 (or is not displayed until there are completed orders).
  • If the guest has visited before, you see the actual number of their visits, for example, 👤 7.
  • The counter does not include the current open order — only closed ones.

The badge is visible at the moment the order is opened on the screen and does not require any additional actions from the staff.

Guest Order History

Click on the 👤 badge — a modal window with this guest's order history will open.

The history displays the following for each past order:

  • order date and time;
  • amount;
  • items (dishes);
  • location, if the venue operates in multiple locations.

This allows you to quickly understand the guest's preferences, suggest favorite dishes, or clarify details of a previous visit without manual searching.

How the system recognizes a guest

Meni automatically links multiple guest visits into a single profile, even if the guest has not registered. Several types of identifiers are used for this:

Identifier Description
Device When opening the QR menu, the guest's browser receives an anonymous identifier. A repeat visit from the same device is recognized automatically.
Account If the guest logged into the system (Google, email), their orders are linked regardless of the device.
Phone If the guest left a phone number when placing an order, it becomes an additional point of contact.

All three sources are combined into a single guest profile. If the same person ordered from a smartphone, then registered, and then called — the system will show a single counter of their visits.

No settings are required for this — recognition works automatically.

How to Use in Dining Area Operations

The regular guest badge helps the dining area staff in several scenarios:

  • Priority service — a regular guest with a high visit counter deserves special attention: greeting them by name, offering their favorite dish.
  • Personalized offers — the waiter sees the history and can unobtrusively offer what the guest has already ordered and loves.
  • Experience management — if a regular guest left a low rating or canceled an order, the manager will notice it faster.
  • Loyalty assessment — the counter across all locations provides an overall picture of how active the guest is in your chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a guest need to register for the system to recognize them?

No. A repeat visit from the same device is recognized automatically — without registration or data entry. If the guest later registers or leaves a phone number, all of their previous orders will be merged into a single profile.

Does the counter track orders for a single location or across all of them?

Across all locations of the establishment. If your guest has visited two different locations of your chain, the counter sums both.

Can I view a guest's order history without opening their current order?

No — the history opens by clicking on the badge inside the order card. To find the history of a specific guest, open any of their orders in the monitor.

What if a guest uses several different devices and has not logged into an account?

If the devices have no common connection points (account or phone number), they will be treated as different guests. The most reliable way to merge visits is when the guest logs in via Google or leaves a phone number at least once.

Does the badge affect the performance of the order monitor?

No. Guest data is loaded in the background and does not slow down the monitor.
